L’intervento riguarda il recupero di due edifici esistenti, la realizzazione di un nuova piazza e di un nuovo sistema insediativo. Dal punto di vista delle nuove costruzioni, si prevede una destinazione d’uso prevalentemente residenziale, integrata con negozi ed uffici da posizionare al piano terra. Questa scelta è dettata dalla necessità di uniformarsi alla tipologia di edifici già esistente nella zona, creando una serie di usi attrattivi diffusi e non concentrati, che favoriscano la fruizione dell’area nelle diverse ore del giorno. Il progetto prevede infine una ridestinazione funzionale dei due edifici esistenti: la cabina Enel ospiterà uffici pubblici e sedi per associazioni, e l’ex capannone Gasfire attività permanenti e temporanee.

The project consists in a refurbishment of two existing buildings, the design of a new public square and of a new residential district. The new buildings will be mainly residential, complemented with shops and offices that are placed at the ground floor. This choice is determined by the existing typologies of the area, realizing a series of appealing functions that are spread and not concentrated in few spaces, that help the fruition of the area during the day. In the end, the project considers the redefinition of the function of the two existing buildings: the Enel cab will host public offices and venues for associations, the ex Gasfire warehouse permanent and temporary activities.
