modular bookcase

1963

The library was presented during the 1957 fair at the Centro Esposizione Mobili. The elements that distinguish it are the ease of assembly and disassembly, the modularity of its elements that allows it to be adapted to any space and to create different compositions, in addition to the lightness of the construction system. The materials that compose it are the brushed brass for the structure and the solid wood for the shelves, the drawers and for the folding units that are frontally closed by a tempered glass door. The bookcase is fixed by anchoring the vertical structure to the wall; they are hooked to two-mm thick triangular supports with locking brackets that support the tops, the drawers and drop-leaf furniture made of solid wood. The study of the details has a aesthetic consequence, as the shaping of the drawers' cymna moding, realized, as is the tradition of a cabinetmaker, with a dovetail joint.
